My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the Abri. It was well-priced for SF and Union Square area. The room was small but the king bed was comfortable and the bathrooms look to be newly remodeled. Everyone on the staff was very friendly. I agree with other reviewers that the street side rooms could be noisy at night, but we slept well anyway. While some may complain the area is touristy, the location is great for first time visitors to SF. It's around the corner from a BART and there are a lot of late night dining spots within walking distance. We would stay there again

As soon as we stepped in the door of the Hotel Abri the hussel and bussle of downtown San Francisco melted away. Everything about it is relaxing and comfortable. The bed and coverings were nice, everything smelled great, and we had pleanty of room. Everyone at the front desk was helpful with our many tourist questions and gave us great restaurant suggestions. The cable car is just around the corner, the undergound transit system (BART and MUNI) is a block away, and Union Square is 2 blocks away, and tons of shopping and restaurants with in walking distant. I highly recommend the Hotel Abri.

A great week in San Francisco

I went to San Francisco to meet my daughter and 3 grandchildren, ages 2, 4, and 6. My son-in-law had a medical conference and would be busy most of the time, and my daughter needed an extra set of hands to help with getting those 3 children on and off cable cars, and going through museums. So grandma joined them. They stayed at a very expensive hotel. I didn't want to spend that much, so I went searching through reviews and found this hotel, an older 5 story hotel that had recently been renovated that had great reviews. Perfect! And the price was great as well. I arrived on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. There were no queen-size rooms ready, but the friendly young man behind the desk, Tyler, found a king size room for upgrade. He helped me with my luggage and I was quickly on my way to a great week of sightseeing. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The renovated rooms are very nice, and the bed is very comfortable. The location was perfect for walking, riding the cable car or the trolley. We were blessed by perfect weather--no rain. The restaurant connected with the hotel had great Italian food and was very comfortable for a grandmother eating by herself, or for enjoying a glass of wine in the bar. They had fresh coffee and tea available in the morning. They used an excellent quality coffee and a delightful variety of tea bags. The only downside to my room was the noise of the exhaust fan on the roof above my room (503) However I soon realized it was a positive....a white noise that blocked any street noise. It was never a problem for sleeping. I would definitely go back to the Hotel Abri.

The Bri-Union Square Hotel, to put it simple, is located in the middle of everything that you can possibly need to experience S.F! You are close to shopping as well as many restaurants, and bars etc. My room was small and cozy with an immaculate and spacious bathroom and the bed was delightful. I highly recommend this Hotel it is so underpriced for what you get. Parking is inexistent unless you pay * to * dollars per night so good luck, in San Francisco, you get charged for everything! So take my word for it, this place ROCKS save some money and stay here you will be truly impressed. Forgot to mention it is beautiful and walking distance to a CVS store if you need beer, champagne, wine whatever get it here because later you will pay the price of the San Francisco experience.
